Mrs. Brooks 7th Grade Science

Hello! My name is Maegan Brooks. I grew up in Lindale, a small town in East Texas. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in Psychology and minor in Spanish. Then, I completed a teaching program through LeTourneau University. After graduating, I had the privilege of some really great teaching experiences including working as an Outdoor Education teacher and teaching 7th grade Science for 6 years before moving to North Carolina. I have a wonderful husband, John, and two sweet children, Flyn (11) and Hazel (7). I have enjoyed teaching 7th grade science at PCMS for the past 2 years and am looking forward to a great year 3! In my free time, I love to explore everything outdoors, cook, play the guitar, and catch a ball game.

In 7th grade science, we will explore the wonders of the natural world through engaging experiments, interactive projects, and collaborative learning. Topics will include:

  • Earth Science: Atmosphere, Weather, and Climate
  • Physical Science: Energy, Forces, and Motion
  • Life Science: Cells, Human Body Systems, and Genetics
  •

My goal is to foster a classroom learning environment to help your child:

-Develop a strong science vocabulary

-Make connections in science to other academic subjects

-Utilize technology to enhance learning

-Develop critical thinking skills and the ability to challenge assumptions, think creatively, and solve real-life problems

-ENJOY LEARNING NEW THINGS!
