Principal's Message

My name is Joshua Gaskill and I am proud to serve as your principal for the 2024-2025 school year.  I have 14 years of experience in education and all 14 of those years have been with Pamlico County Schools. I have served in a variety of positions throughout my career with the school district: History Teacher (Pamlico County High School), District Teacher Support Specialist, Assistant Principal (Fred A. Anderson Elementary School and Pamlico County High School), and most recently the Coordinator of Teacher Recruitment and Retention at Central Office. In 2015, I was recognized as the North Carolina Southeast Region Teacher of the Year. I consider it both an honor and privilege to serve my home community through public education. 

It is my goal to continue a legacy of excellence here at PCMS. Our school is steeped in rich history and we take pride in offering our students the very best educational opportunities and experiences possible. The faculty and staff at PCMS are dedicated professionals who emphasize teaching and learning to the whole student through high quality instructional practices. In addition, we offer a plethora of extracurricular activities so that all students can explore their interests and grow as individuals. It is our desire to help students achieve great success and reach their full potential.
