Welcome to Ms. DeLancey’s English Language Arts Class!

About Me:

As one of the newest teachers at Pamlico County Middle School, I am excited to teach each of you this year! I have previously taught Human Communication at the community college level in Northern Virginia.

I graduated from the United States Military Academy and served as an active duty Army officer for several years. I have a Masters and a PhD in Communication and have worked as a television news reporter and anchor before moving on to leadership and communications roles in the federal government including the US Postal Service, the US Farm Credit Administration, and the US Agency for Global Media.

I have been married to my husband, Doug - a retired Army Colonel, for 29 years! Together, we have four incredible children - Jay (27), a US Naval Academy graduate; Leah (25), a graduate of Penn State University; Gina (22) a Citadel graduate; and Claire (15), a sophomore at PCHS! Doug and I live in Oriental with Claire and our sweet Hurricane Maria (Puerto Rico) rescue pup, Mocha! We love boating on the Neuse River.

I am excited to be a part of the Pamlico County Middle School family and I can't wait to meet my students and their parents and caregivers!
