At the January Pamlico County School Board meeting, two students were named Rotary Students of the Month from their respective schools. Awards were presented by Pamlico County School's Mr. Henry Rice and representing the Rotary Club was Mr. Earl Canfield.
The Rotary Student of the Month for Pamlico County Middle School is Baird Audilet. Baird's teachers have the following to say about him:
Baird is one of the most unique individuals in our school. He is kind, loyal, smart, quirky, and athletic. He has an enduring love for his family; something that he carries with him to school. This is seen by his kindness towards others. Baird is an outstanding student who sets the example for others. He works hard and excels in his school work, always turns work in on time and shows concern for others. Above all, Baird's attitude is upbeat and optimistic, he always has a smile on his face and a word of encouragement for those around him. He excels in the classroom and is well liked by his peers and respected by his teachers. Baird represents the values of Pamlico County Schools and has a bright future ahead of him.
Mr. Reifsnyder said he is continually impressed with Baird's character.
Pamlico County High School’s Rotary Student of the Month is Aniyah King. Mrs. Lansche has the following to say about Aniyah.
Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of watching Aniyah mature into an exceptional young lady. There is something truly special about watching students as middle schoolers and having the opportunity to then watch them cross the threshold of high school and morph into young adults. She has shown so much growth and maturity among her peers. Aniyah comes to school every day with a positive attitude. More importantly, she stands up for other students when they are afraid to use their voice. She is willing to come forward and help when students are being bullied. She believes in doing the right thing, even when it may not be the popular thing. Additionally, Aniyah participates in Cheerleading. She is a talented athlete, and she is a strong teammate who shows promising leadership abilities. Aniyah is a great representation of our Canes Values.
Congratulations to these impressive young people and many thanks to the Rotary Club for the opportunity to recognize these students.
