April Rotary Students of the Month Announced

At the April 3 Pamlico County Schools Board of Education meeting, we had the honor of celebrating a student from Pamlico County Middle School and Pamlico County High School.

Aspyn Nunley from PCMS and Andrea Chavez-Lopez from PCHS were recognized as the April Rotary Students of the Month!

Principal Rebecca Lansche from PCMS says this about Aspyn Nunley:

"Aspyn is a prime example of hard work and dedication to her school work. She is at the top of her class academically and balances all of her school activities with ease. Aspyn is kind and respectful to her peers and teachers while being a good role model for her classmates to follow. Aspyn is an amazing person both inside and outside of school! We are so proud of her!"

Principal Brandolyn Holton from PCHS wrote about Andrea Chavez-Lopez:

"Andrea is a senior at Pamlico County High School. She is an active member of our band and served as drum major for the 22-23 marching band season, leading her fellow band members through several award-winning performances. She maintains a 4.45 weighted GPA all while taking 7, Pamlico Community College dual enrollment courses in addition to her 2 honors level PCHS courses this semester. Andera is not only an academic scholar, she can regularly be seen assisting her mother, one of our outstanding custodians, with after-school events - volunteering her time to aid in the beautification of our school.

Miss Chavez-Lopez is polite, compassionate, hardworking, and a friend to all with whom she comes in contact. She has been accepted to NC State University, UNC Chapel Hill as well as other universities and plans to pursue law school. It is my pleasure to nominate Miss Chavez - Lopez for the April Rotary Student of the Month and know that no matter her future endeavors, she will find much success."
