The Pamlico County Arts Council once again brought some phenomenal talent to the stage at PCHS to engage Fred A Anderson Elementary School and Pamlico County Middle School students.
The PCAC website states:
"PCAC presents an interactive rhyme-writing session with members of The Secret Agency including Grammy-winning songwriter, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, and fellow rappers Secret Agent Hi-Fi and Secret Agent Cool Breeze. Kids will learn how to express themselves creatively, rapping their own original creations over boom bap beats while gaining an understanding of slant rhymes, syllable manipulation, and bar counting.
Secret Agent 23 Skidoo is a Grammy winning, internationally touring performer and teacher.
He and his traveling band have headlined family festivals in Canada, India, and Australia, as well as rocking sets across the U.S., from Lollapalooza to the Smithsonian.
He is the author of two published childrens’ books and a young adult Audible Original audiobook on the craft of rhyme writing, created in collaboration with hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Caz. He recently won a grand prize in the 2020 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and is about to release an elementary school curriculum created in collaboration with Asheville Symphony.
He has taught rhyme writing workshops around the world for more than a decade."
Thank you so much to the Pamlico County Arts Council for their continued support in finding and providing such engaging experiences for our students.
